The Prins Dokkum company was founded. The company had an excellent knowledge of steel and focused their activities on the development and manufacturing of crash barriers and other traffic safety systems. Prins Dokkum also started a business in Horticulture constructions and soon they became a reliable and strong brand in greenhouse structures. Just like the crash barriers, greenhouse structures find their way worldwide.
Manufacturing of greenhouses went well for nearly 50 years. But, why don’t we start building them ourselves as well? More quality control and more feeling for the horticultural market… Prins Kassenbouw is established in 1987. Primarily to do construction work in the Netherlands. Prins Kassenbouw is based in western part of Holland. The reliable name of Prins soon earns the confidence of horticultural customers. The company builds, innovates and, above all, listens very carefully to the wishes of the horticulture sector.
Quality involves going that extra mile. More and more customers are opting for the convenience of the ‘one-stop-shop’. Two years later in 1989 - Vepritec (pri stands for Prins) is formed. The company develops and installs ventilation mechanisms and thermal screen systems.
Initially for the projects of Prins Dokkum and Prins Kassenbouw, but soon for its own circle of customers as well. Vepritec becomes an important player in the market, with a distinctive approach: flexible, well-planned, versatile and skilled. The company installs, innovates and, above all, listens very carefully to the wishes of the horticulture sector.
Demand for aluminium applications is increasing. Also is the desire to develop systems in-house which fit perfectly with the quality of Prins Dokkum, Prins Kassenbouw and Vepritec. More scope, more control, more feeling for the market.
In 2001 the aluminium expertise is accommodated and expanded in a new company: Prins Systemen. The company focuses entirely on the development and manufacturing of aluminium gutters, roof and side and end-wall systems for greenhouse structures. Prins Dokkum, Prins Kassenbouw and Vepritec are the most important customers. The company develops, innovates and, above all, listens very carefully to the wishes of the horticulture sector. All this leads to the development of a distinctive and entirely unique greenhouse roofsystem.
Quality requires attention. Prins Dokkum, Prins Kassenbouw, Vepritec and Prins Systemen therefore co-operate more and more. Soon the ideas for merging the several companies to one official group are born. One group offering more convenience and reliability and an even stronger innovative power. To prepare the move to one group, a split takes place in Dokkum in 2006. Prins Dokkum remains Prins Dokkum, specialized in high quality steel traffic safety systems. The horticulture division continues under the name Prins Kasprojecten, specialized in high quality steel greenhouse structures and the execution of foreign horticultural greenhouse projects.
In January 2007 the Prins Group is established. After that, one more milestone to go: the creation of a shared company site. In detail: the steel manufacturing activities by Prins Kasprojecten acquires new premises in Dokkum. But the Dokkum head office moves to Kwintsheul. Four companies, one key, one group of specialised partners who together can arrange the execution of complete and complex greenhouse projects.
In January 2009, the next milestone Prins Glasshouse Projects is established. Besides the dealer-network there is a growing demand for complete turn-key projects abroad. Countries and regions where no Prins Group dealers are active, customers will be served directly by Prins Glasshouse Projects.
Prins Glasshouse Projects is a vigorous company with a high level of horticultural skills and knowledge. They realize horticultural projects all over the world.
